For pop star Kylie Minogue, ancient Greece rules.  But at the Slurp parties I used to throw at the Cock, twas Ancient Rome!

Last night as I gazed upon Kylie’s trés gay concert spectacle “Aphrodite Live” (Thanks for tickets, Aimee!),  I was dazzled by the big-budget effects.

Our Satyricum parties, both of them, were a lot more DIY!

Destination: Providence, Rhode Island.  Mission: Emcee the annual drag pageant sponsored by Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design a.k.a. RISD.

Little did I realize that the contestants would be so fierce, with many of the queens high-kicking to current dance hits in skin-tight leotards!

On- and off-stage, everyone was sweet, and camaraderie reigned!

 

With co-host Murray Hill and Aida of Brown's Queer Student Association, who arranged for us to be there. Thanks, Aida!

Last year's winner, gloriously goofy Nef-ro-titie.

Forsooth! It's hilariously wacky group act Dungeons and Drag.

 

And the winner is... Odyoncé! She even brought her own queen-size scepter!

 

Proceeds went to the transgender advocacy organzation Lifelines Rhode Island.   A fun and charitable event!
