The scope of RuPaul’s DragCon is amazing. There are thousands of attendees, including lots of suburban tweens. The stars of Drag Race have to be escorted by handlers in order to make their way through mobs of adoring fans.
From a sociological viewpoint, the whole affair is quite fascinating.
How exciting, I’ve been invited to be a Guest of Honor at RuPaul’s Drag Con—at Los Angeles Convention Center!
I am partaking in two back-to-back events:
*4pm – “Legendary: The Queens of New York” – A panel discussion about the “past, present and future” of NYC nightlife. Considering my age, I’ll be chatting mostly about the past!
*5pm – I’m presenting my acclaimed slideshow The Drag Explosion. Savor the queens who paved the way!
