Can you believe it? The new issue of Time Out New York magazine features a list of “NYC’s Top Ten Drag Queens”—and I’m included at number six! Along with a goofy picture!

Of course, I’m flattered… but me?

Well, the list is comprised mostly of oldsters who’ve endured the test of time—Lady Bunny, Joey Arias, Sherry Vine, Lypsinka, Charles Busch and me have a combined age of 1,538 years. (I didn’t even know that Lypsinka was still alive!) I guess I we all get points for still carrying on.

(Of the other gals, Shequida and Bianca Del Rio are moderately middle aged, and Bob the Drag Queen and Horrorchata represent the new generation.)

Honestly, I’m not sure if I deserve the honor. There are a lot of high-profile queens these days. But in the meanwhile, I humbly accept my sixth-place position. I gotta get a T-shirt printed that says “I’m #6”.

Yesterday was the last day of my photo exhibit at ClampArt Gallery, and I spent the final hours mingling with friends who dropped by. It was a very relaxed and amiable way to wrap things up.

With my friends Etienne and Filex.
With my Montreal pals Etienne and Félix.

The entire run of the exhibit was a really wonderful and gratifying experience, especially as a tribute to my friend Page. (The photos were from my debut book, PAGES, featuring solo shots of her over the course of our friendship, and published by Peradam.)

But I can’t deny that the project has been heavy at times. As I display my photos of Page, I’m constantly reminded that she departed way too early. For my own peace of mind, it’s time for me to move on to other concerns.

See you later, Page. I’m not done with you yet…

Not one, not two, three or four. But Five Stars!

That’s the stellar rating from the multi-arts website The Artists Forum for my photo exhibit “Pages” at ClampArt Gallery.

Talk about flattering!

The exhibit continues at ClampArt though May 17th, in the heart of Chelsea’s gallery district.

Meanwhile, over in the Lower East Side…  On Wednesday, April 30th, at Participant Gallery, I’m giving another presentation of my slideshow extravaganza, “The Drag Explosion,” featuring my photos of NYC’s drag scene from the late 1980s to the mid ’90s.

The event is sponsored by the roaming queer film-and-video series “Dirty Looks,” which has been building a buzz by displaying some of my photos on their Instagram account.

First came my debut photo book, PAGES… And now some of the images are on display in an exhibit (also called “PAGES”) at ClampArt Gallery through May 17th.

The opening was a packed affair and a whirlwind experience. My photos are in small room—it’s an intimate exhibit—and I think they look great! I hope you can stop by to see them.

DURING – Art connoisseurs galore!

AFTER – Posing with Sam Cate Gumpert and Elizabeth Jaeger, co-owners of Peradam, which published PAGES. And they did a hell of a lot of work getting the exhibit up, too!

(All photos by Christian Grattan for ArtFagCity.com, which covered the opening. Also, I posted some photos at my Facebook page.)

Excitement reigns!  It’s time for my first big photo exhibit, featuring images from my debut book, PAGES.

The location is ClampArt Gallery, in the heart of Chelsea’s art district. The opening is Thursday, April 3rd (from 6 to 8pm), and the exhibit runs through May 17th.

All the photos are of my friend Page. It is my honor to pay her tribute. (And does she ever owe me a thank you. Kidding! I owe her…)

Big Thanks to the book’s publisher, Peradam, for helping make this happen!
