I stumbled home very late last night from my guest hosting job at the new party WestGay.  The location is the WestWay club, which used to be an adult-entertainment complex and still features the same great dark and naughty atmosphere.

Lots of the pix by Tim McNerney!

The WestWay is located in the far West Village where the streets are made out of stones, making street-walking a bit challenging.

A German, an Argentinian and a Sovanian walk into a gay bar...

I really perked up when I got to stand next to Jiggly Caliente of "RuPaul's Drag Race!"

Kyle poses with colorful Geri Visco. She holds a full-time day job at Colombia University then hits the clubs every night!

I hosted a runway walk off, which attracted a smattering of enthused contestants.

She won for best runway walk (but not for best tuck)!

Time for a go-go conga line! My arm is the most manly of all!

Sexy bartender was my last shot of the night! What a cutie!

Yesterday’s New York Times article “Keepers of the Gay Film Legacy” included a nod to the Monday-night Queer/Art/Film series at IFC Center.

Coincidentally, yesterday afternoon I bumped into the series co-founder Adam Baran at PS1 for the Freaky Boiz concert.  He’s bi-coastal nowadays, working in L.A. as programming coordinator for the biggie LGBT film festival Outfest.

And and in another coincidence, I’m on screen tonight at Queer/Art/Film—in a supporting role in the 1994 indie Postcards from America, based on autobiographical writings of rebel artist David Wojnarowicz.  The film was selected by this week’s curator, lesbian film director Rose Troche.

I play a spacey drag queen named Trippy.  I’ve got two scenes—I’m good in one and kinda suck in the other.  But I haven’t seen the movie since it came out.  Maybe I can be more forgiving of my performance now.

The movie got mixed reviews, with most of the accolades going to young actor Michael Imperioli, who would go on to fame starring in The Sopranos.

Also, there’s one other drag queen in the film, Sissy Fit, who’s really good.  Bitch.

(Boo hoo, I can’t attend the screening because it’s a work night for me.)

For old time’s sakes, I should’ve bought some Lucky Charms to kick off St. Patrick’s Day.

I used to gobble them up as a kid, but back then I would eat any sweetened cereal—Cap’n Crunch, Fruit Loops, Frosty Flakes, Fruity Pepples, you name it.  Just like any other red-blooded American kid.

So it any surprise that our country is so out of shape?  We’re all weaned on massive doses of sugar as soon as we can crawl to the breakfast table.  Breakfast cereal is a gateway drug!

Thank goodness I managed to regulate my sugar intake as I grew older.  I still eat sweet stuff, but nowadays I get most of my sugar from drinking alcohol and beer.  You know, healthy stuff.

Happy Green Beer Day!  May the luck of the Irish be with you!

BON VOYAGE to my pal Brian Moylan who has left his job as a contributing writer at Gawker.  How I’ll miss his lively gay gossip!

Me and Monsieur Moylan

Brian says he’ll be making a “big announcement” about his next gig once he returns from vacation in Brazil.  I like getting together with him because he rarely checks his phone!  His ability to compartmentalize and simplify his life is a great example for us all!

CONGRATULATIONS to Erwin, or maybe his name is Edwin, who works or worked at Splash bar in some capacity.  Obviously I don’t know much about him, but I’ve always thought he was a sexy little devil—and now he’s made an X-rated video (as “Ivan”) with his boyfriend, porn star Kennedy Carter.

Ivan + Kennedy = HOT!

Apparently Ivan needed a little coaxing, but once the cameras started rolling all inhibitions went out the door!

SEE YOU LATER to Lady Bunny who’s winding down her cabaret show, That Ain’t No Lady, with one more performance on March 20th.

California bound!

The show has been running since October, thanks largely to a rave review in the New York Times.  But Bunny’s got to leave for L.A. to film the next season of LOGO’s Drag U.  Have you seen the show?  Bunny is a judge.  Like Judge Judy, but not as pretty.

WELCOME BACK to the Freaky Boiz, the gay rap duo from Chicago who I got to introduce at BUTT Magazine‘s Valentine’s Day bash.

Freaky!

The Boiz are playing this Sunday at Brooklyn’s PS1, which I hear is a hotbed of homosexuality.  Holla!

BREAK A LEG to Farrad, who I first met as Negro Dazzle when he was bopping around as part of the Dazzle Dancers (Time for a comeback, guys!).

Black Magic!

This Friday and Saturday, Farrad is performing “Black Magic” at Wild Project about his experience in the music world, including coping with the age-old dilemma of art versus commerce.  Sounds intriguing—I can relate!
