I always get a kick out of super-perky lady reporter Damiana Garcia, whose videos appear on the pop-culture website The WOW Report.

A true professional, she’s never at a loss for a probing question or gracious compliment.   At Logo’s recent NewNowNext Awards she pounced upon a steady stream of boob-tube personalities.

Delightfully relentless!  Go, Damiana, go!

When you’re hired help at a party it’s tacky to whip out a camera and start snapping photos.

So when I got a job earlier this week hosting an upper-crust birthday bash (Thanks Garrin and Viva for the gig!), I politely confined my picture taking to backstage of my fellow entertainers.

With cohost Sherry Vine. The theme was Weimar, but my headgear makes me look like an accident victim!

Just another simple look from Darrell of the Pixie Harlots.

Dirty Martini looking lovely, with freshly-scrubbed armpits!

Flossing floozies—Pixie Harlots Johnny and Machine Dazzle.

Julie Atlas Muz prepares for her giant-ballon act. Pop art!

The secret life of entertainers!

Every time I see Manila Luzon, the pretty Filipino contestant from NYC on RuPaul’s Drag Race, two things come to mind.

1) The first time we met and discovered that we both hail from Minnesota.  (She’s mixed heritage, explaining her taller-than-average stature.)

2) My memories of visiting her namesake—the capital of the Philippines and the island it occupies—including attending an ultra-extravagant drag show!

The show was bigger than any Broadway production, with dozens of queens and supporting actors.

After the show, the cast lined up in the lobby for tips from the audience.

Future job for Manila?  In Manila?

Finally!  After not having Internet service for several days (and being unable to post on my blog), I can once again mindlessly surf the Super Information Highway!

For instance, I just discovered what the #1 image is when you Google the words “ugly” and “drag queen.”

It’s my nightlife colleague Sugga Pie Koko!

I actually think she’d get a kick out of her top dog status.  Sugga aims for humor—and she delivers!

Beautiful in her own way…!

Bright colors, we need ya, after such a long gray winter!

While we wait for sunny days and flowers and plants to start blooming en masse, here are some pix to perk you up—featuring the colorful gal known as Sequinette from when she appeared in my action-packed photo novella Bitches in the Sky.

Pretty colors and intrigue!

One more photo from Night of 1,000 Gowns—a happy shot of the youngest attendee.  How fabulous that he got to dress in royal finery and go to a drag ball!

Reminds me of myself when I was his age, braces and all.  I loved the thrill of donning a costume for Halloween, school plays, church holiday events, etc.

Little did I know that I’d someday make it my profession!

Me and my brother at Halloween. I'm the "hot dog!"
